ENGINEERING SURVEYING
1 provides basic knowledge in engineering surveying. The course emphasizes on
bearing and distance measurement, levelling, area and volume works. It also
provides early exposure to students in practical work.
Upon completion of this course,
students should be able to:
CLO 1 : Apply basic knowledge and calculations of engineering surveying (C3, PLO1)
CLO2 : Measure perimeter survey and leveling works using equipments according to survey regulation (P3, PLO3)

DUG30023 GREEN TECHNOLOGY COMPLIANCE
- GREEN TECHNOLOGY COMPLIANCE course is designed to introduce students with fundamentals of green technology, green practices, and green compliances towards the ultimate target of sustainable living. Students will be exposed to different feasible technologies in achieving goals that show developments in rapidly growing fields such as sustainability, innovation, viability and natural sources reduction. Students will also learn other areas where green technology is implemented such as energy, transport, building, water and waste management.

ENGINEERING SURVEYING 2 provides knowledge on Topographic survey, automation survey, calculation of volume using Mass Haul Diagram and concept Global Positioning System (GPS). It also emphasizes on detail surveying and GPS field work.

DCG40152 HYDROGRAPHIC SURVEYING
HYDROGRAPHIC SURVEYING provide students with the fundamental knowledge in hydrographic survey including the theory of tides, hydrographic survey planning, and techniques for positioning, sounding and charts production process. The knowledge and skills gained from this study can be applied to work in various industrial sectors, including surveying, oil and gas, regional government and hydrographer.
Upon completion of this course, students should be able to:
CLO1 : Explain the concept of hydrographic survey, function of hydrographic agencies, planning procedures and plans production process(C3, PLO 1)
CLO2 : Apply the concept of tidal observation, datum transfer,positioning and sounding according to standard for hydrographic survey (C3, PLO 1)

DCC50252 Building Services
SYNOPSIS:
BUILDING SERVICES focuses on the basic concepts and the principles of the systems
in a building. The course emphasizes on the electrical installation system, fire
prevention system, building transportation system, air conditioning system,
maintenance works and the demolition works.

DCC50242 Building Information Modeling (BIM)
BUILDING INFORMATION MODELLING (BIM) focuses on the designing and analysing building models using techniques, resources and BIM tools. Students will be introduced to building models using BIM process for architectural, structural and plumbing. It covers BIM coordination, clash detection and construction scheduling. This course is a project-based where students gain knowledge and skills on the implementation of BIM concepts from planning to design stage.

DEE30043 ELECTRONIC CIRCUITS
ELECTRONIC CIRCUITS emphasizes the concept of electronic device applications. The course covers the fundamental of electronic circuit application which include power supply unit, oscillator, operational amplifier, timer, filters and AD/DA converters. DEC30023 COMPUTER NETWORKING FUNDAMENTALS
Upon completion of this course, students should be able to:
1. Investigate a computer network structure to determine the network protocol, network services, network problem and network security when implementing specific networking requirements
2. Construct a simple LAN or WLAN in accordance to IEEE or TIA/EIA-568-A/B wiring standard and network troubleshooting using network simulation or tool
3. Demonstrate awareness of the norm practice of professional bodies such as IEEE or TIA/EIA-568-A/B during practical work session

DEP50033 DATA COMMUNICATION AND NETWORKING
DATA COMMUNICATION AND NETWORKING exposes the student to the principle of data communication and networking.
This course covers the basic concept of data communication and networking fundamental for quality data transmission.
Students are exposed to Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) Model and Network
Protocol. Students are also introduced to Local Area Network and public digital
network.

DFP50193 WEB PROGRAMMING
WEB PROGRAMMING course will provide
a basic understanding of the methods and techniques of developing a simple to
moderately complex web site. Using the current standard web page language,
students will be instructed on creating and maintaining a simple web site.
After the foundation language has been established, the aid of a web editor
will be introduced. A second web-based language will be included to further
enhance the web sites. Throughout the course, students will learn proper
techniques to develop web based applications starting from designing interfaces
to publishing application to a production server.

DFC40163 SYSTEM ANALYSIS AND DESIGN (MK)
SYSTEM ANALYSIS AND DESIGN course
is an introduction to the concept and the development of information system.
The course is designed to acquire the knowledge of system development life
cycle. It covers all activities in planning, analyzing, designing and
developing information systems including techniques used in software
maintenance. Systems analysis is the process of turning a set of user
requirements into a logical system specification. Systems design takes the
logical specification and converts it into a set of designs that can then be
implemented to create a working application. It includes expanded coverage of
data flow diagrams, data dictionary, and process specifications.

SECURE MOBILE COMPUTING course appraises vulnerabilities and threat vectors associated with Mobile Computing devices. This course contains a specific emphasis on mitigation techniques including security configurations as well as security software.

DFN30073 SWITCHING AND ROUTING ESSENTIALS
SWITCHING AND ROUTING ESSENTIALS course
introduces students to the equipment, applications, and protocols in a
small network. The course provides knowledge on routing protocols such
as Routing Information Protocol (RIP) and Inter-VLAN routing which
includes VLSM, VLANs and Dynamic Trunking Protocol (DTP). Students also
learn about the routing tables and Access Control Lists (ACLs).
Students’ skills are developed through hands-on exercises in the
laboratory on configuration, installation and troubleshooting a network.

DFP5013 MOBILE APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT
MOBILE APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT introduces mobile application development for the Android platform. Android is a software stack for mobile devices that includes an operating system, middleware and key applications. The Android SDK provides the tools and APIs necessary to begin developing applications on the Android platform using the Java programming language. Students will learn skills for creating and deploying Android applications, with particular emphasis on software engineering topics including software architecture, software process, usability, and deployment. Topics will include Android Development Environment, user interfaces, audio, persistence, SQLite databases, location, sensors, and graphics.

DFN6014 ADVANCE ROUTING
ADVANCED ROUTING course introduces students to the operations of advanced routing protocols in a larger and multi area networks. Students learn how to configure routers for advanced functionality. By the end of this course, students will be able to configure and troubleshoot routers and resolve common issues with OSPF and EIGRP in both IPv4 and IPv6 networks.
