POWER ELECTRONICS course is aimed to equip students with the knowledge and skills related to power electronic devices and its application in power conversion. This course also will focus on the operational principle of rectifiers, choppers, inverters and AC voltage controller circuits. Emphasis is given more on producing the output voltage waveforms of the converters.
PROJECT 2 is the continuation of DEE40082 PROJECT 1 course. The course focuses on methods of circuit construction, testing, troubleshooting, debugging, repair and also completion of the project which was planned during the previous semester. This course also requires students to manage an economical engineering based project, prepare a project report in a given format and deliver a project presentation at the end of the semester. The students are allowed to do an individual or group project but will be assessed individually through the project assessment tasks throughout the course.
PROJECT 1 provides knowledge regarding the implementation and development methods of a project based on hardware or software or a combination of hardware and software. This course provides exposure to the project management and finance, techniques to develop project and proposal preparation.The students are allowed to do an individual or group project but will be assessed individually through the project assessment tasks throughout the course.
Upon completion of this course, students should be able to:
1. Investigate a computer network structure to determine the network protocol,network services, network problem and network security when implementing specific networking requirements
2. Construct a simple LAN or WLAN in accordance to IEEE or TIA/EIA-568-A/B wiring
standard and network troubleshooting using network simulation or tool
3. Demonstrate awareness of the norm practice of professional bodies such as IEEE or TIA/EIA-568-A/B during practical work session
POWER SYSTEM course will provide students with the concepts of non-renewable and renewable energy. It also annotate on the environmentally friendly electrical power generation, transmission, distribution and consumerization of the electrical power.
ELECTRONIC CIRCUITS emphasizes the concept of electronic devices applications. The course covers the fundamental electronic circuit applications which include power supply unit, filters and operational amplifier, timer, oscillator, and AD/DA converters. The contents cover circuit configurations, operations and applications of the electronic circuits.
DEE20023 - SEMICONDUCTOR DEVICES
Semiconductor Devices introduces students to the basic electronic theories and devices. it covers the fundamentals of electronic devices which includes diodes, bipolar junction transistor and field effect transistors. the contents encompasses devices structure to biasing basic application.
MEASUREMENT introduces students to the basic concept of electrical instrument and measurement. It covers the basic principles of measurement, safety precautions and meter calibration. Students will also use measurement devices such as analogue meters, DC and AC meters, analogue and digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators and power meters during practical session. This course also covers the basic concept and simple application of DC Bridge.
ELECTRICAL TECHNOLOGY course will introduce students to the principles related to DC electrical circuits. It covers the fundamental laws, theorems and circuit techniques of the electrical technology basic fundamental. This course also covers inductor. Capacitor, magnetic and electromagnetic circuits.
PROGRAMMING FUNDAMENTALS course provides the skills necessary for the effective of application of computation and computer programming in engineering applications. Students will develop their programming skills through a variety of assignments and labs and by reviewing case studies and example programs. The learning outcome is proficiency in writing small to medium programs in a procedural programming language.
SATELLITE AND RADAR COMMUNICATION SYSTEM introduces to students the concept of satellite and radar, satellite orbits, space satellite subsystem, satellite communication system, radar fundamentals and different types of radar system. It also covers end to end satellite and radar communication system in various generations and latest technologies.
WIRELESS COMMUNICATION introduces student to the basic of wireless communication includes several specialized topics. Students are expose to wireless networking, evolution of mobile communication, cellular network channels, techniques used to enhance capacity and speed, interference, radio wave propagation and multiple access techniques. This course also exposes the student to the awareness of wireless technology to the health and environmental.
OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH FOR ENGINEERING course is designed to impart understanding of the self-regulatory concepts and provisions under the Occupational Safety & Health Act (OSHA). This course presents the responsibilities of workers in implementing and complying with the safety procedures at work. Understanding of notifications of accidents, dangerous occurrence, poisoning and diseases and liability for offences will be imparted upon students. This course will also provide an understanding of the key issues in OSH Management, Incident Prevention, Fire Safety, Hazard Identification Risk Control and Risk Assessment (HIRARC), Workplace Environment and Ergonomics and guide the students gradually into this multi-disciplinary science.
ENGINEERING DRAWING course provides the students with the fundamentals of technical drawings and the application Computer Aided Design (CAD) software.
For technical drawing, it emphasizes on the practical knowledge of drawing instruments and drawing techniques while for CAD the student will learn to navigate and use the software to create 2D drawing design in engineering.
Students shall be able to demonstrate competency in using some standard available features of technical drawing and CAD application to create and manipulate objects or elements in engineering drawing.
WORKSHOP TECHNOLOGY provides exposure and knowledge in using hand tools, machine operation such as drilling, lathe, milling and computer numerical control. It also covers on gear measurement and inspection welding process in oxy acetylene, Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) and Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW).
PNEUMATIC AND HYDRAULICS provide knowledge and understanding to the importance of pneumatics and hydraulics circuits, equipment and design along with its usage in the industry.
INDUSTRIAL MANAGEMENT provides students to a strong fundamental understanding of industrial management prospect, production system planning such as inventory, scheduling, production system operation, facilities, plan location, layout and line balancing. This course also provides knowledge in quality control and human resource management.
INDUSTRIAL ROBOTICS introduces to the robotic system which emphasize on industrial robot components such as actuators, robot sensors, robot end effectors, and control system. Topic also discuss on industrial robot application including the advantages and disadvantages of using robots. The course complete with an explanation of the robot classification, robot programming operations, ANSI robotics safety standard and maintenance process
JIG, FIXTURE AND TOOLING DESIGN exposes the students to the knowledge of datum concept, geometric tolerances and fundamentals to build the tooling based on clamping and locating principle. The topics are also covering the principle of tooling applications in metal and non-metal process. All the topics discussed will help the students to understand, able to plan and identified the use of tooling. Students will also be exposed to the application of tooling in related industries.
PROJECT 1 provides knowledge on the implementation methods and project
production based on the hardware or analysis from laboratory test or research data /
information. This course provides exposure to the selection and initial project
planning, preparation methods, presentation proposals and production projects. This
course also prepare the knowledge and training skills to solve problems and decision
making before going into the nature of employment in the future.
UTILITY PLANT introduces and provides knowledge on different
types of plant and its importance including various utility flow diagrams. It
also exposes students to utility system and its function, the basic design, the
philosophy of control and interlock including the main equipment, functions,
mechanical characteristics and its operating procedures. This course also
imparts general knowledge and exposes the students with common problems utility
PROJECT 2 is emphasis on the method of
construction, testing, detection and project preparation planned in the
previous semester. This course also trains students to prepare project reports accordance
with the prescribed format and performing projects at the end of semester.
ENGINEERING SCIENCE course introduces the
physical concepts required in engineering disciplines. Students will learn the
knowledge of fundamental physics in order to identify and solve engineering
physics problems. Students will be able to perform experiments and activities
to mastery physics concepts.
COMPUTER APPLICATION exposes students to different packages of application s software such as word processor, spreadsheet, presentation, project management, internet security and digital etiquette. This course mainly emphasize on the practical aspects of using applications software and awareness in digital world activity. Students will develop teamwork and leadership skills to present ideas and organize project. Students are able to use the information and technology skill attained in future
ACCOUNTING INFORMATION SYSTEM is generally a computer-based method
for tracking accounting activity in conjunction with information technology resources.
It offers skills to use computer as an accounting tool in producing a full set of account.
Students will use the computer for recording transaction and producing financial report.
The computer will also be used to analyze financial reports by management. In
addition, student will be exposed to the latest technology trend in accounting and other
external sources attempting to collected information.
FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING 3
provides students with knowledge of shares and debentures, and preparation of
the Investment Accounts. Students are also exposed on Contract Account,
Consignment Account & Bill of Exchange and Branch Accounts.
COMPUTERIZED ACCOUNTING SYSTEM offers skills to use computer as an
accounting tool in producing a full set of account. Students will use
the computer for recording general ledger, subsidiary ledger transactions, general
journals and special journals. The computer will also be
used to analyze financial reports and prepare statistical data to be used by

Upon completion of this course, students should be able to :
1. classify the functions, structures and process of computerised accounting system and produce an accounting report by using a computerised accounting system. (C3, PLO1)

3. perform efficiently with a proper techniques and procedures to create an

FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING 2 course emphasizes
knowledge and skills necessary for accounting professionals. Students will be
able to deal with specialized transaction in Hire Purchase, Royalty, Accounting
for Non-Profit Organization, Manufacturing Accounts and Partnership Account.
FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING 1 helps students to develop knowledge and
understanding of accounting concepts and principles, as well as to develop the
capability to perform the basic accounting function. This course will cover in depth on
recording, processing and reporting business transactions and events. Students will be
able to prepare trial balance and financial statements in accordance to accounting
COMPANY LAW provides knowledge on the principles and law that need to be
adhered to by a company in Malaysia. This course gives emphasizes towards the
incorporation of a company, the management and administration of a company, the
company’s financial aspects and the winding up of a company. This course also
provides comprehensive knowledge on the importance of the provisions under the
Company Act 2016.
COMPUTER APPLICATION IN ACCOUNTING provides knowledge and skills to students relating to basic components of computer systems, usage of internet and its implication in accounting. This course also exposes students to different types of software applications. The students will be able to produce documents, spreadsheets, charts and presentations concisely.
INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT exposes students to various investment methods and management techniques used in investment activities. It also emphasizes on methods used in investment analysis, equity and bond valuation, and exposes students to other forms of investment.
DIGITAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT introduces how to develop creativity and innovation and managing risk in starting up a digital business environment. This course will also guide the students on ways to conduct the process of buying and selling and control the business with emphasis on the preparation of i-business plan, thus developing the i-entrepreneurial skills.
BUSINESS ETHICS is about relationships, values, justice, and culture (personal,
professional, corporate, national and global). It also provides a basic framework for
examining the range of ethical issue arising from a business context. This course also
discusses on the issues of right and wrong actions or decisions from all levels of decisions
making. It also explains corporate culture, ethical leadership, corporate governance,
corporate social responsibility, employee responsibilities, diversity and discrimination.
BUSINESS COMMUNICATION course is designed to give students a comprehensive view of communication, its principles and importance in business. it also covers the written and verbal communication skills for effective business communication. The course focuses on the application of communication principles in achieving organizations goals. Some of the topics include the fundamentals of good business communication and explore the latest trends in workplace communication.
